I know I Shouldn't Judge, but Dang!

Yesterday Amanda and I took Cameron and Gabriel to Burger King so they could play at the playground. No really, it's true. We went so they could play. We bought drinks and went to the play area. While we were sitting there enjoying watching the little ones run around and wear themselves out, a police car pulls up. Then we notice these two cars parked side by side with these two women standing there. I had already seen the woman in red kinda pacing around behind her car but I just thought maybe she was waiting for someone who was still inside. Anyway, then we hear these sirens and I realized what had happened. I said, "Oh no, don't tell me that these two women just had a little fender bender and one of them called 911." Sure enough, the fire department pulls into the parking lot, followed by the ambulance. The EMTs jump out and go to the women, who promptly turn them away. The EMTs walk away, pulling off their blue gloves and shaking their heads, looking disgusted. Then I got kinda ticked and pulled out my camera. Because I'm pretty sure that is the single most idiotic thing I have ever witnessed, and I want pictures to prove it. Why call 911 when there is not a true emergency? What a waste of tax payer money. I also can't help but wonder how much gas that huge fire truck burns. And for no reason.

I have called 911 exactly 2 times. The first time, it took the emergency services a very long 12 minutes to get there. Why? The police department was less than 2 miles from my house and it was about 2 o'clock in the morning. How much could have happened in that twelve minutes?

The second time I called, it took emergency services 26 minutes to arrive. Again, why?
Both times I called, someones life was on the line. Someone was in immediate danger. I've always believed 911 was for that kind of situation. Someone needs emergency assistance NOW.

Did it take EMS so long to get to the emergencies I called about because some attention seeker had to call 911 over some minor thing, like a bent license plate?

Watching these two women walk around without a single thing wrong with them really urked me. Exchange your freakin insurance information and move on. As far as we could tell, there was no damage to either car except the license plate of the darker car was a little bent under. Big friggin whoop. No reason for 911. Especially if you're just going to turn the EMTs away when they get there.

Well, here's some pictures. They're not very close up as I didn't want to be obvious. The woman in the red shirt gets the Drama Queen award since she's the caller. I really think she should get a fine for abusing the emergency system. The man in the red shirt holding the door for her in the last pic is her husband. He showed up in a separate car after the EMTs. Yeah, she called him too. Gimmie a break. *Insert eye roll here.*

People do that crap all of the time. Or they will call the ambulance at 2 in the morning for an earache they have had for 2 days. They think they are going to get in quicker or something. It drives my mom insane because she is the one having to wake up with an adrenaline rush and take their crazy behinds to the hospital. It is a huge waste of money and time. I agree.
